Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Safe Bite Report ("the Service"), including the website at safebitereport.com and the Safe Bite Report mobile applications, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
Description of Service
Safe Bite Report provides information about restaurant, food facility, school, daycare, and other establishment health inspections in Louisiana. We collect publicly available inspection data from the Louisiana Department of Health and present it with our own independently calculated grades and scores.
Independent Publisher
Safe Bite Report is an independent publisher that aggregates and republishes public health inspection records and related public information. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting on behalf of the Louisiana Department of Health or any other government agency. Inspection reports are public records and are snapshots in time. Source data may be delayed, corrected, withdrawn, reissued, incomplete, or unavailable. If any content on the Service differs from an underlying official inspection report, the official inspection report controls.
Important Disclaimers
- Editorial Assessment: Any Safe Bite Grade, score, ranking, badge, label, or similar designation is a proprietary, non-governmental, editorial assessment generated by Safe Bite Report from disclosed public records and our methodology. It is not a permit status, legal determination, or representation that an establishment is currently safe, unsafe, compliant, noncompliant, clean, or unclean. Scores reflect the data available to us as of the date shown and may change when source records, facility mappings, or our methodology change.
- Combined Listings: Some listings may combine multiple permits or permit areas at a common location, and a combined score may not describe each permit area separately.
- Point-in-Time Data: Health inspection data represents conditions observed at a specific point in time. A facility's conditions may have changed since the most recent inspection.
- No Guarantee of Accuracy: While we make reasonable efforts to ensure data accuracy, we cannot guarantee that all information is complete, current, or error-free. Data is sourced from public records which may themselves contain errors or delays.
- Not Health, Safety, or Legal Advice: The Service is provided for general informational purposes only and is not medical advice, legal advice, or an official government notice. Do not rely on the Service as a substitute for official inspection reports, recalls, outbreak notices, closures, or professional judgment.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SAFE BITE REPORT AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:
- Your use of or inability to use the Service;
- Any inaccuracy, error, or omission in the data, grades, scores, or rankings presented;
- Any action taken or decision made by you in reliance on information provided by the Service;
- Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers and/or any personal information stored therein.
Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that the data presented will be accurate, reliable, or current.
Data Correction Requests
If you are an owner, operator, or authorized representative of a listed establishment and believe a listing is inaccurate, outdated, misattributed, or misleading, you may submit a correction request to [email protected] with the establishment name, address, permit number (if known), the challenged content, and any supporting official documentation. We may annotate, correct, temporarily suppress, or update a listing while we review the request. We do not remove or alter accurate public-record information solely because it is unfavorable.
User Accounts and Subscriptions
Some features of the Service, such as email alerts, require you to provide an email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account. You may delete your account at any time from the My Alerts page or by contacting us.
User Submissions
By submitting a comment, tip, tag suggestion, or other content through the Service, you represent that, to the best of your knowledge, it is accurate, not knowingly false or misleading, and does not violate any person's rights. We may review, refuse, remove, edit, or decline to publish submissions in our sole discretion.
Intellectual Property
The Safe Bite Report name, logo, Safe Bite Grade system, and Safe Bite Score methodology are the intellectual property of Safe Bite Report. The underlying inspection data is sourced from public records maintained by the Louisiana Department of Health.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when these terms were last revised. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Louisiana, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
